The work culture has dramatically changed in organizations in recent years. Employees want to choose their own devices and applications to personalize their work-related communication experiences. Employees are accustomed to tools which provide a high level of user experience.

Organizations are looking for options to provide a Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) solution keeping in mind the security and compliance. Offering the same user experience that the employees get when they use other consumer application, or platform can ensure employee engagement. An efficient UCC solution also helps in driving business goals and revenue. Although the required user experience (UX) feature can change according to a business’s requirements.

Here is a list of features companies should keep in mind:

Single User Interface: Single user interface can provide a seamless user experience. Services like screen sharing, messaging, voice, and other communications services should be integrated into a single standard application across all mobile and fixed devices. Disparate products that are caused by having multiple communications infrastructure can hamper the growth of a company. Threaded communication can also enhance the user experience. Treaded communication provides the history of all communication in one single and easy to read the thread. This allows users to collaborate across different interfaces and platforms.

User Metrics: Users switch between devices throughout the day. A UCC solution should be able to support switching between devices like phone, desktop, and laptop. Employees also change networks while on the move. Employees switch from cellular networks to multiple WI-FI spots, UCC solutions should ensure that there are no call drops when switching from different forms of coverage.

Need Analysis: Companies should perform a need analysis to ensure that the majority of the workforce get what they desire from the UCC solutions. An assessment of existing legacy systems is also required to get an idea about the requirements to get the system running smoothly.

Exceptional user experience is required to improve the ROI. It also enhances the productivity of an organization. Communication and collaboration always play an essential role in a company’s success.
